ASUS planning touchscreen Eee PCs for 2009

The rumours are coming true. In the first quarter of 2009, Asustek will unveil ASUS Eee PCs with touchscreens, according to Samson Hu, general manager of the Eee PC business unit. Asustek is still deciding which models will be updated but expects to showcase the new models at CES 2009.

Asustek will also unveil new dual-core Atom processor models once Intel begins to ship the new processor. The company is also planning a model that will cost less than NT$10,000 (about USD$300) sometime in 2009.

It looks like 2009 will be another year of frenzied Asus Eee PC model announcements.
