Google Chrome browser exits beta stage

Google Chrome

It might be a new record for Google! The company announced that, after just 100 days, it is releasing its first non-beta version of Google Chrome, its web browser. In that short time, it has reached 10 million active users. I had a quick look at Gadgetorama statistics and about 3.3 percent of yesterday’s visits were done with Chrome.

This latest release of Google Chrome comes with a number of improvements:

  • Improved stability and performance of plug-ins (including video)
  • Improved performance with respect to start up, page loads, and Javascript engine performance
  • Improved bookmark manager, including import and export feature

While Chrome may be out of beta, Google is still working to add some common browser features such as form autofill, RSS support and an extensions platform (as Firefox offers today).
