Half of music market to be digital by 2010

According to Nokia, digital music could amount to half of the world’s entire music market by 2010. Since 2004 when it accounted for about 2 percent of the entire market, digital music has grown exponentially and is expected to hit to 20 percent this year of the global market (and up to 30 percent in Asia) this year.

With the launch of its ‘Comes with Music’ service, Nokia is aiming to become the leading music vendor but in order to do so, will have to take on the current champion, the Apple iTunes store, already the largest U.S. music retailer.
