Hop-On to launch Android mobile phone at 2009 CES

Another device manufacturer is set to join the Google Android party. Hop-On has announced plans to release its own Android device. The unveiling has been set for the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) taking place in January 2009. According to Peter Michaels, the company’s CEO,

“Hop-on is committed in bringing the latest technology to the market, the Android open platform makes Hop-on competitive in the high end mobile phone market. This will create market value for our shareholders.”

Hop-On did not reveal any details about the upcoming device beyond indicating that the new phone will sell for under USD$200.

Hop-On is the company behind the Hop1800 disposable cell phone.
