HTC: Android and Windows Mobile smartphones complement each other

John Wang, HTC Chief Marketing Officer, recently confirmed the obvious: HTC will continue to develop smartphones based on Windows Mobile and that they will remain its most important market. At the same time, Android handsets will allow HTC to expand its product mix.

According to Wang, the two operating systems complement each other and form separate ecosystems with their own merits and advantages. Windows Mobile gives users high performance, interoperability and a large library of applications while Android gives developers and companies like HTC more flexibility.

Will HTC change its tune if Google Android starts to grab significant market share at Windows Mobile’e expense (especially with Windows Mobile 7 now delayed to late 2009)?
