HTC Mogul gets EVDO Rev.A and GPS

HTC Mogul

HTC has released a ROM upgrade for the HTC Mogul carried by Sprint. Among the enhancements offered are two that jump out: The addition of EV-DO Rev.A support and GPS functionality (which had not been activated when the Mogul was first released).

With EVDO Rev.A, download speeds should increase to up to 1.4Mbps and upload speeds should reach up to 500Kbps.

Among the other enhancements in the upgrade are a new Today Screen Task Manager for easier access and management of running programs, improved Bluetooth performance and a fix for an issue where Windows Live Messenger content could be erased when the device power cycles.

Sprint introduced the HTC Mogul back in June 2007. It is now available for USD$199.99 with a two-year service contract and a USD$100 mail-in rebate.

Note: Be sure to back up all your data prior to the upgrade as this ROM update will completely wipe out all currently stored data. The upgrade should take about 25 minutes.
