DigiTimes is reporting that Palm has selected HTC to manufacture the Palm Treo Pro. Citing sources at handset vendors, DigiTimes indicates that Palm selected HTC because of the company’s experience in manufacturing Windows Mobile-based smartphones.
A number of HTC touches and customizations such as the HTC’s task manager program and the flush display and soft keys that are similar to that of the HTC Touch Diamond) are strong evidence that this is more than rumour.
Despite HTC manufacturing the Palm Treo Pro, Inventec Appliances is expected to remain Palm’s biggest ODM partner.
HTC is also the ODM behind the much anticipated Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 expected later this year.
