i-mate Ultimate 9502

i-mate formally unveiled the Ultimate 9502 and 8502 at the Mobile World Congress. Announced back in October, the two new Ultimates replaced a number of other previously announced but then canceled devices. Jim Morrison, the i-mate CEO, promised that 2008 will see i-mate continue to deliver on its iconic devices and sophisticated services.

The Ultimate 8502 and 9502 are powered by a 400MHz Qualcomm processor and Windows Mobile 6 Professional. They come with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band HSDPA/HSUPA connectivity, 128MB RAM and 256MB ROM, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, integrated GPS and a microSD slot. While the 8502 features a 2.6-inch QVGA display and QWERTY keyboard, the 9502 features a Sidekick-like keyboard below a slide-out 2.8-inch VGA display and an auto-focus 3MP camera.

Pricing and availability information was still not disclosed.
