Microsoft Zune launches today in Canada

Microsoft Zune

The Zune made its official Canadian debut today. First released back in November 2007, this is the first time that it is available outside of the U.S.

To go with your new Zune, you can also download the Zune software for free. It will let you organize your music collection, rip and burn CDs, create playlists and sync them to your device. Unfortunately, the Zune Marketplace where you can buy music online is not yet available but is expected to be launched later in the year.

You can get your Zune from Best Buy, Futureshop, The Source, Amazon.ca and the Canadian Zune Originals site. The 4GB Flash Zune is available for CAD$139.99, the 8GB version for CAD$189.99 and the 80GB HDD-based Zune for CAD$249.99. You have a choice of pink (only for the Flash models), red or black.
