More evidence that XPERIA X1 runs on WM6.1

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1

Hungarian site has posted an extensive picture gallery of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1. And the pictures confirm what had been expected: The X1 is running on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, the still unannounced-by-Microsoft-but-expected-by-everyone update to Windows Mobile 6.

The pictures also give us some additional information on the specs of the X1. It will be powered by a 528MHz Qualcomm 7200A processor and will have 128MB RAM.

From previously released specs, we also know that it features quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and quad-band UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (either 900/1700/1900/2100MHz or 850/1700/1900/2100MHz depending on configuration) connectivity, a 3-inch WVGA (800×480) touchscreen display, a QWERTY keyboard, up to 400MB of internal memory, aGPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an FM radio, a 3.2MP camera, and both a Memory Stick Micro and a microSD expansion slots. It also features a patented panel interface with the X1. Each panel represents a different function (for example web or multimedia) that can be activated with a simple tap. The panel layout is fully configurable.

The second half of 2008 cannot get here fast enough although I suspect that it will cost a pretty penny.
