Macworld 2008 is less than two weeks away and the rumour mill is in full gear. MacRumors reports that they have reliable confirmation that Apple will release a subnotebook (rumours of such a device have been floating around for almost a year). To keep the size of this new model to a minimum, it will not come with an internal optical drive. Instead, a detachable external drive will be offered.
MacRumors also indicates that we will see other notebook revisions, including a multi-touch trackpad (a la iPhone). Which model(s) are set to acquire the new trackpad is not clear though.
Steve Jobs takes to the stage on January 15th for the Macworld 2008 Keynote so we will know for sure then.
