Rumours of a USD$99 iPhone being sold by Walmart in the near future are gathering more steam. The New York Post is the latest to pick up the rumour. According to the short article, Walmart could even begin to offer it before Christmas if it can train its people in time about the fun world of Web-surfing.
The article also mentions that two models will be offered. Could Walmart also offer either the 8GB (USD$199) or 16GB (USD$299) models? Or is the 4GB iPhone nothing more than rumour with both current models being the ones to be offered?
Should the rumours turn out to be true, customers will still need to sign up for a service plan with AT&T.
