The rumours of a Dell smartphone may have just been revived. In an interview with GigaOm, Michael Dell, founder and Dell Inc. CEO, drops a hint that the company may be warming up to the idea. When asked about plans for mobile phones or smartphones, Dell replied, “We are certainly looking at the whole smartphone category, but I wouldn’t expect anything anytime soon.”
Adding a bit of fuel to the fire (or to the wisps of one), Dell added that he was not prepared to talk about any potential partnerships, for example with Symbian or Android, given that they are “kind of working on that.”
