DigiTimes is reporting that Hewlett-Packard has placed a large order for VIA Technologies’ new Nano processor. Exactly how big an order HP placed was not revealed.
At this point, it’s also not clear whether HP intends to use the processor in upcoming netbook or mainstream notebooks though. It is certainly plausible though that HP could replace the current VIA C7-M processor with a Nano processor in a refresh of its 2133 Mini-Note PC family.
Based on VIA C7-M processor orders, HP appears set to sell at least 500,000 Mini-Note PCs this year.
