HTC has announced a press event for May 6th where it promises that attendees will witness the next wave of HTC Innovation. The event will take place at 11:30am in London but there are few other details at this time.
It’s not clear what HTC will announce but speculation suggests that it could be the HTC Dream, the company’s first handset powered by Google’s Android mobile operating system. HTC has indicated in the past that it would have an Android-powered mobile phone out in 2008 so this could well be the expected announcement. The invitation does promise that more details will follow so hopefully we will know shortly if early speculation is correct.
From rumours so far, the Dream is expected to be just over 12.7cm (5 inches) long and 7.6cm (3 inches) wide with a large touchscreen. Directional controls will be located beneath the screen. It will also come with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
