Samsung unveils an entire Omnia family of products

Samsung’s event today suggested that we might see one ore two new devices but Samsung has unveiled an entire family of products bearing the Omnia name. The company unveiled the Omnia II, Omnia Pro (in B7610 with slide-out QWWERTY keyboard and B7320 variants), and the Omnia Lite.

The Omnia II (GT-I8000) is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional with the TouchWiz 2.0 user interface. It comes with HSUPA 5.76Mbps and HSDPA 7.2Mbps connectivity, a 3.7-inch AMOLED WVGA touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, 480p video recording and playback, and up to 48GB of memory (presumably when using a 32GB storage card).

The Omnia PRO B7610 (GT-B7610) is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and comes with HSDPA connectivity, an AMOLED display, a QWERTY slide-out keyboard, GPS, Wi-Fi, a 5MP camera, and Opera 9.5.

The Omnia PRO B7320 (GT-B7320) comes with a QWERTY thumb keyboard, Wi-Fi, an FM radio, and a 3MP camera. It does not have a touchscreen and runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard.

Lastly, there is the Omnia Lite (B7300) powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 with the TouchWiz 2.0 user interface. It comes with HSDPA connectivity, A-GPS, Wi-Fi, and a 3MP camera. Unlike the other models, it does not sport an AMOLED display.

Samsung has yet to provide further details on specifications, availability and price.
