Acer unveils new smartphones at MWC

Acer M900

As promised, Acer unveiled a new line of smartphones today at Mobile World Congress. The new Tempo product line consists of four devices so far. Several more devices are planned for later this year as well.

The Acer M900 is powered by a 533Mhz Samsung S3C 6410 processor and Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional with the Acer Shell v2.0 user interface. It comes with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band (850/1900/2100Mhz) HSDPA/HSUPA connectivity, a 3.8-inch WVGA touchscreen display, 128MB RAM and 256MB ROM, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, GPS, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, a 5MP camera with auto-focus, a microSD card slot, a fingerprint sensor, an FM radio, and a 1530mAh battery.

The F900 is very similar to the M900 but lacks the slide-out keyboard. It is powered by a 533Mhz Samsung S3C 6410 processor and Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional with the Spb Mobile Shell v2.1 user interface. It comes with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band (850/1900/2100Mhz) HSDPA/HSUPA connectivity, a 3.8-inch WVGA touchscreen display, 128MB RAM and 256MB ROM, GPS, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, a 3.2MP camera with auto-focus, a microSD card slot, an FM radio, and a 1530mAh battery.

The X960 is powered by a 533Mhz Samsung S3C 6400 processor and Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional with the Acer Shell v2.0 user interface. It comes with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band (850/1900/2100Mhz) HSDPA/HSUPA connectivity, a 2.8-inch VGA touchscreen display, 128MB RAM and 256MB ROM, GPS, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, a 3.2MP camera with fixed-focus, a microSD card slot, an FM radio, and a 1530mAh battery.

Lastly, Acer unveiled the dual-SIM DX900 which had been outed a bit earlier. Powered by a 533MHz Samsung S3C 6400 processor and Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional with the Spb Mobile Shell user interface, it comes with quad-band (850/900/1800/1900MHz) GSM and tri-band (2100/1900/850MHz) HSDPA/UMTS connectivity on the first SIM and tri-band (900/1800/1900MHz) GSM connectivity on the second, a 2.8-inch VGA touchscreen display, 128MB RAM and 256MB ROM, built-in GPS, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, a 3MP auto-focus camera, a microSD card slot, and a 1530mAh battery. The Acer specifications do not confirm the presence of a 0.3MP front-facing camera and composite TV out support.

Acer did not release availability and pricing details.
