Google releases sync tool for iPhone and Windows Mobile

Google announced today that it has released an update to Google Sync, allowing it to sync Google Calendar and Gmail contacts with iPhones and Windows Mobile devices. Synchronization takes place over the air automatically.

For iPhone and Windows Mobile devices, Google Sync allows you to get your Gmail contacts and Google Calendar events onto your phone. Sync uses push technology, which means that any changes you make to your calendar or contacts from the browser or phone will be reflected on your device within minutes.

Google Sync is still in beta so be aware that there are some known issues for both the iPhone and Windows Mobile devices.

Google Sync is also available for BlackBerry, Nokia S60, Nokia standard and Sony Ericsson devices.
