Happy New Year from Gadgetorama

I would like to wish everyone a very happy new year! 2010 is not quite here in Toronto but festivities have begun in other parts of the world. As always, thank you for your ongoing visits to Gadgetorama.

2009 was not without its challenges: Life left little time for the site and my hopes to have the site redesigned once again fell through. I also had hoped to cover more news and do more reviews. Hopefully things will get better in 2010 but there are new challenges on the horizon, the most significant one being that Gadgetorama headquarters will undergo significant renovations (essentially top to bottom) starting next week. That should make life very interesting…

Continuing a Gadgetorama tradition, I will spare you the top whatever list of 2009. But a couple of stories that I followed with interest this year were the WIND Mobile launch saga here in Canada as well as the growing adoption of Google Android by device manufacturers, carriers and users. It will be interesting to see if and how WIND Mobile changes the competitive wireless landscape. And will Android adoption continue as it did in 2009? Could fragmentation (Android 1.5/1.6/2.0/2.1) lead to trouble? And what about new operating systems such as BREW and Samsung bada? Other questions that we will hopefully see answered: Can Microsoft turn the tides with Windows Mobile 7? What does Apple have in stock for us?

All in all, I have a feeling that 2010 will be another exciting year in the world of mobility gadgets and news.

Happy New Year!
