Earlier this week, HTC announced a press event for June 24th but provided no information as to what it was planning to unveil. The mystery may now be solved. According to the Chinese-language Economic Daily News, HTC will unveil its latest Android-powered smartphone, the HTC Hero.
he HTC Hero will apparently come in two versions, one with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard (codename HTC Memphis) and one without. Another variant, the HTC Lancaster (with keyboard), will be headed to AT&T. This is not the first time that rumours about the Lancaster have surfaced.
HTC could also reveal an Android specific version of its HTC TouchFLO 3D interface. It’s not clear which if any Hero variants would come with it but the Lancaster is expected to have its own AT&T specific interface.
