PSP Go revealed ahead of E3

Sony PSP Go

Sony’s next generation handheld gaming console has been revealed just days before E3. Pictures and a video of the PSP Go have been leaked as well as some specifications. Sony has since confirmed many details.

The device comes with slide-out controls, a 3.8-inch display, 16GB of flash memory, a Memory Stick Micro slot, and built-in Bluetooth support (including mobile phone tethering and headset support). It is also expected to support the PlayStation Network (including TV and movie rentals and purchases) and work with the PS3. Most interesting is the loss of the UMD drive in favour of all-digital content. It is going to be 43 percent lighter than the current PSP-3000.

The PSP Go is expected to be sold alongside the current PSP rather than replacing it. It should be released this fall. Described as a premium product, expect it to cost more than the PSP-3000.
