Rogers Wireless begins deployment of 21Mbps HSPA+ network

Rogers Wireless

Rogers Wireless has announced that it will begin to deploy a 21 Megabits per second (Mbps) high-speed HSPA+ (High Speed Packet Access Plus) wireless network in August. The first deployment will take place in the Greater Toronto Area and other cities will then follow over the next few months.

Rogers is the first wireless provider in North America and only the sixth carrier in the world to launch HSPA+ at peak speeds of 21 Mbps, putting Canada on top of the world in technology and innovation and once again, bringing leading-edge technologies to Canadian consumers first.

Rogers will launch a 21Mbps capable Mobile Internet stick in the same timeframe.
