Samsung and Giga-Byte prepare for Mobile World Congress

The upcoming GSMA Mobile World Congress, running between February 16th and 19th, continues to look more and more interesting.

First up, Giga-Byte Communications will once again attend and has sent out an invitation to visit our booth and check out our new products of 2009. Unfortunately, there are no details on those new devices yet.

Meanwhile, Samsung appears to have a few announcements on tap. First up could be the industry’s first 12MP camera phone. There are very few details but it appears it will run Samsung’s own operating system. Mass production is expected to start this month and it will hit the street in Europe first.

Samsung could also unveil a successor to the Innov8, featuring an 8MP camera with zoom, an updated Omnia with 16GB of onboard storage, and we could also hear about an Android handset.
