Sony Ericsson not rushing Android handset

Sony Ericsson is in no rush to jump on the Android bandwagon. Chief Executive Hideki Komiyama feels that Android still requires a lot of evaluation, as well as a lot of testing, a lot of acceptance from a consumer viewpoint. As a result, it could still be some time before Sony Ericsson releases its own Android handset.

Instead, the company is focusing its efforts on the user experience and user interface in an effort to differentiate their handsets from those of competitors.

Interestingly, Android is one of the three operating systems, the other two being Symbian and Windows Mobile, that Sony Ericsson has chosen to focus on for its high-end phones.
