T-Mobile delays Android 1.5 rollout by one week

T-Mobile

T-Mobile announced today that it was delaying by approximately a week the rollout of Google Android 1.5 (AKA Cupcake). No specific reason was given:

We are working diligently to get Android 1.5 out as soon as possible, while aiming to ensure a consistent, positive experience for our customers. We’re finalizing the build this week to ensure optimal functionality and smooth delivery.

As a result of the delay, T-Mobile expects that all G1 customers will have received the update by early June instead of the end of May as originally planned.

The deployment will be staggered and customers will receive a notification when the update is ready for their device.
