The Windows Mobile 6.1 upgrade for the Verizon XV6900 (also known as the HTC Touch) is now available. The download is available from PCD (Personal Communications Devices, LLC), the company that came about when UTStarcom, Inc. sold its Personal Communications Division to AIG Vantage Capital (part of AIG Investments).
Aside from an update to Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, the upgrade also provides the following:
- EV-DO Rev.A support
- Updated MMS client
- Microsoft Remote Desktop Application
- VzNavigator support
- Support for SD cards up to 16GB
Note: The update will replace the current ROM image and will erase partnership and all user data and programs on your device. Be sure to back everything up before you start.
