HTC Desire HD with North American 3G bands gets FCC approval

The FCC has given its approval to an HTC Desire HD model sporting support for North American 3G bands. With support for WCDMA bands II and V, it could be offered by AT&T in the US and Bell, Rogers, and TELUS in Canada.

The FCC approval gives credence to earlier rumours that suggested that the HTC Desire HD was headed to TELUS.

While the FCC documents never specifically identify the HTC Desire HD, the original version (with European band support) carried the model number PD98100. This model is the PD98120. The DLNA certification site also refers to it as the “PD98 series.” The FCC label diagram also seems to suggest none other than the Desire HD. A lot of coincidences in my opinion.

There is no word on availability but previous rumours suggested TELUS could launch it as early as January or February.
