IDC: The top five mobile operating systems in 2014

As part of its latest Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, IDC has gazed into its crystal ball to predict what the top five mobile operating systems will be in 2014. It sees a market that will comfortably support five operating systems:

IDC expects the overall market to continue to grow at a healthy pace although rates of growth will decline year-over-year as the market matures.

Considering how volatile this space has been in the past, it will be interesting to look back at this prediction in 2014 and see how prescient this prediction was.
