Apple has released a new beta version of its forthcoming iPhone OS 4.0. Among all the other goodness to be found, it appears that iPhone tethering could finally be on its way to AT&T.
A new configuration panel specifically mentions AT&T. The wording and suggestion that customers contact AT&T to enable it suggests that the capability will come at a cost.
Apple introduced tethering support over USB or Bluetooth in iPhone OS 3.0. But this functionality has yet to be supported by AT&T. Is this about to change?
