Last week’s rumours that Lenovo and HTC were looking to buy Palm are gaining steam today. Citing “three people familiar with the situation,” Bloomberg is reporting that Palm will work with Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Qatalyst Partners to find itself a buyer.
Older rumours have suggested that Dell, Nokia, Motorola and even Nintendo may have considered buying Palm in the past. Maybe they’ll do so again. Other potential buyers could include Huawei Technologies Co. and ZTE Corp., two Chinese manufacturers.
Palm’s webOS has been well received since its debut at CES 2009 but sales have not met expectations, especially in recent quarters.
