Samsung confirms Windows Phone 7 devices coming

Samsung yesterday put out a press release to announce an agreement with Microsoft to use the Windows Phone 7 platform on upcoming smartphones. As part of the announcement, Samsung confirmed that several Windows Phone 7 devices will be launched in Europe, the US, and Asia.

Simon Stanford, Head of Mobile, Samsung UK and Ireland said: “The addition of Windows Phone 7 devices to Samsung’s smartphone portfolio is a significant milestone. Samsung’s new Windows Phone 7 based smartphones will play a key role in reinforcing Samsung’s leadership in the smartphone market and commitment to providing a range of devices across a variety of platforms.”

The news is not exactly a big surprise especially considering that Microsoft revealed back in July that Samsung would be a Windows Phone 7 launch partner. At least now it’s official…
