Samsung has reconfirmed plans to introduce a tablet PC sometime in the third quarter. It provided only two additional details and neither are new: The tablet will be powered by Android and come with a 7-inch display.
Earlier this month, JK Shin, president of Samsung’s mobile communications business, confirmed that Samsung was planning to release a tablet called the Samsung Tab. Shin also revealed additional details: The Tab will come with 3G connectivity, GPS, Wi-Fi, and two cameras.
Shin said that Samsung would release the Tab sometime before October, narrowing the release date to sometime in August or September. It remains to be seen if and when the Samsung Tab will land in North America.
