WIND Mobile now has almost 140,000 subscribers as it saw its growth surge by 49 percent quarter-over-quarter. It was only in August that WIND Mobile announced that it had topped 100,000 subscribers.
Interestingly, it was not WIND Mobile that released the subscriber numbers but its financial backer, Egypt-based Orascom Telecom Holding SAE. In reporting its Q3 2010 results, Orascom announced 139,681 WIND Mobile subscribers (up from 93,882 at the end of June 2010).
WIND Mobile has stated in the past that it hopes to sign up 1.5 million customers within three years.
