Apple iPad 2 already in production?

Apple

Citing “people familiar with the matter,” The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the upcoming Apple iPad 2 is already in production. In the US, it will initially be available through AT&T and Verizon Wireless.

The report also supports a number of earlier rumours, indicating that it will have at least one camera (on the front), more memory, and a more powerful graphics processor. It will also be thinner and smaller than the first generation iPad. It will also have a display with a similar resolution, going against rumours that suggested that a higher resolution display was in the works. The Wall Street Journal makes no mention of SD card or USB slots.

Apple is expected to launch the iPad 2 within the next few months at prices similar to that of the current iPad (between US$99 and US$829). With a rumour that Apple will release iOS 4.3 on February 14th, could Apple so make an iPad 2 announcement?
