A trusted BGR source has apparently confirmed that the leaked BlackBerry London, likely to be RIM’s first BBX smartphone, is a real BlackBerry device. RIM is aiming for a launch in the third quarter (a bit later than reported by The Verge) as the company continues to work on getting BES and BBM working on the BBX operating system.

The source also shed some light on what happened to the Colt. RIM has apparently decided to scrap it in favour of the BlackBerry London.
Two independent sources certainly give this rumour a lot of credence but a lot can still happen between now and Q3 2012…
