HP’s webOS Developer Advocate, Josh Marinacci, today announced via Twitter that HP’s webOS App Catalog has reached the milestone of 1,000 available applications for the HP TouchPad:
We just hit 1000 webOS apps specifically for the HP TouchPad. Not bad for a “dead” platform. 🙂
When HP launched the HP TouchPad this past July, it had just over 300 TouchPad-optimized applications.
Without taking anything away from this milestone, it is a far cry from the 140,000 apps now available for the Apple iPad. It also remains to be seen if developers will remain interested given that HP has stopped developing webOS devices and webOS’s own future remains unclear.
