LG has confirmed that it will launch the LG Optimus Black in North America some time after its European launch (taking place this month). The press release does not reveal precise timelines beyond indicating that “the phone will be available globally across six continents beginning in Europe before heading to North America and Asia.”

LG did confirm during the original CES 2011 announcement that the LG Optimus Black would be upgradeable to Android 2.3.

LG also revealed that the LG Optimus Black has been pre-ordered by 56 network carriers in 50 different countries.
