Rather than following up its 7-inch Kindle Fire tablet with a larger 10.1-inch model as past rumours have suggested, Amazon may instead release a smaller 8.9-inch model. Citing sources in Amazon’s supply chain, Digitimes reports that current 7-inch display suppliers are preparing production capacities for 8.9-inch displays.
The same sources suggest that Amazon could also follow this 8.9-inch tablet with a new 9.7-inch model as well as the expected 10.1-inch model in 2012.
