Nokia Windows Phone devices to debut in Europe

Nokia

If you want to be among the first to get their hands on a Nokia Windows Phone device, you may want to head to Europe. Nokia Europe VP Victor Saeijs told 2011 Mobile Telecompaper conference attendees that its first Windows Phone device will be launched there. The launch will cover six countries (France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, and the UK). Finland, Nokia’s home country, did not make the cut.

Saeijs added that Nokia is still aiming for a 2011 launch. Look for Nokia to launch one device with more to be announced at MWC 2012.

There is no word yet on whether North America will see Nokia Windows Phone devices in 2011 (albeit after Europe) or have to wait until 2012.
