Moore’s law is alive and well in the world of smartphone processors. According to an unnamed Samsung, “high-ranking official” speaking to the Maeil Business Newspaper, the company will “release a 2Ghz dual core CPU-equipped smartphone by next year.” They go on to promise that “his product will have the data processing capacities of a regular PC.”
The new processor will apparently be launched under the Exynos brand which Samsung launched earlier this year. Samsung is also apparently not ruling out selling the processor to other manufacturers for use in their smartphones.
There is no word on specific timing or other specifications of what else this smartphone could come with.
