Toshiba Thrive

Toshiba’s 10.1-inch Android 3.0 tablet, first revealed at CES 2011, will go on sale in July in the US as the Toshiba Thrive. A number of retailers, including Best Buy and Amazon.com, will begin taking pre-orders on June 13th. It will be aggressively priced with an 8GB model selling for US$429, a 16GB for US$479 and a 32GB model for US$579.

Specifications are similar to other Android tablets but it will come with Android 3.1 already installed and will feature an IPS display. It will also come with a removable battery and an interchangeable rubber backplate (different colours to be sold separately).

Toshiba also confirmed plans to launch additional tablets later this year, including ones with different screen sizes and cellular connectivity.
