Zynga, the company behind games such as Mafia Wars and Cityville, is coming to Canada. The company today announced that it was buying Toronto-based Five Mobile, a mobile applications developer. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Five Mobile, now Zynga Toronto, creates compelling, robust and scalable mobile applications. The team has worked closely with some of the largest media and technology companies in North America across a multitude of platforms and handsets. This talented group will focus on advancing multiple initiatives within Zynga mobile.
Five Mobile develops mobile apps for a variety of operating systems including Android, BlackBerry, iOS, and Windows Phone. Among these are Score Mobile and the Cineplex Mobile App.
Only a week ago, Zynga announced that it was planning an IPO that could land it upwards of US$1 billion.
