Google launches Google Drive cloud storage service

Google today unveiled its Google Drive cloud storage service, “a place where you can create, share, collaborate, and keep all of your stuff.” Described as the next step in the evolution of Google Docs, Drive will run on PCs and Macs as well as Android phones and tablets. An iOS version is also coming. It also integrates with other Google services such as GMail and Google+.

Google Drive comes with 5GB of free storage. Additional storage will also be available. 25GB will cost US$2.49 per month; 100GB will be available for US$4.99 per month; and, 1TB for US$49.99 per month. It comes with a 99.9% uptime guarantee.
