Microsoft to open first Canadian store with Wayne Gretzky and Train

Microsoft will open its first permanent Canadian Microsoft Store on November 16th at the Yorkdale Mall in Toronto. It will mark the event with launch events with Wayne Gretzky and Train (remember Drops of Jupiter?).

First Canadian Microsoft Store opening

Things kick off at 0900 with the Grand Opening ceremonies. The Microsoft Store will open at 0915 and complimentary wristbands will be distributed to the first 200 people in line for the opening. These wristbands will give recipients admission to both the performance and the meet and greet with the band after the show. They will also be given one additional wristband for a guest but only for the show. The next 1,500 people will also receive two premier viewing wristbands to the show.

Another lineup will start at 1400 for a chance to meet Wayne Gretzky. Some customers will also win the chance to play Kinect with Wayne Gretzky later that day.

Needless to say, you will also have a chance to pick up a new Surface tablet or a new Windows 8 computer. Let’s hope that Windows Phone 8 devices are also available then.
