Mobilicity today announced that it is looking to give Canadians another national day to be known as “National Break Your Wireless Contract Day.” On this day, Canadians would be able to “get out of their contracts without incurring unfair, punitive early contract termination fees.”
“We can’t get Canadians the day off yet, but we can give them $200 to help ease the sting of breaking their contracts,” said Mobilicity Chief Customer Officer Anthony Booth. “We are hopeful that National Break Your Wireless Contract Day is declared an official holiday to give Canadians the freedom and peace of mind they deserve.”
Mobilicity has made a formal submission to the Federal Government to declare this day a National Holiday. While we wait to see if we will soon have another holiday, Mobilicity will this weekend (June 23rd and June 24th) offer a CA$200 credit to anyone switching to Mobilicity and porting their number over.
