A post on Chinese website Weibo appears to have revealed a prototype Nokia Lumia phone running Windows Phone 8. The images show a bright yellow (a future Nokia Lumia colour?) device marked as proto.nokia.com with what could be the Windows Phone 8 interface. It’s not clear if this device is one of the many rumoured ones (including the Nokia Phi and Nokia Lumia 920 among others) that have surfaced in the past.
It is equally possible that the prototype device is actually running Windows Phone 7.8, the update for current Windows Phone 7.5 devices, rather than Windows Phone 8.
The Weibo user has since deleted his post but not before the images were captured by WPDang.
Nokia could unveil its first Windows Phone 8 devices as early as September 5th according to recent rumours.
