Sony Mobile today announced that it has begun to push out the Android 4.0.4 upgrade for the Sony Xperia S.
The update comes with some “unique media applications.” These include the “WALKMAN” application for music, the “Album” application for photo and video management, and the “Movies” application for movie playback and viewing. The video below introduces the new apps and new features in Android 4.0:
Sony says that Xperia S users will receive a notification when the update is available to them. The deployment will take a few weeks and Sony warns that “availability and scheduling of this software upgrade will vary by market and carrier requirements.” There is no word yet on when we will see the update in Canada.
The upgrade will be available over-the-air as well as through your PC, either using Sony’s web-based Xperia Update or the PC Companion or Bridge for Mac software. The update weighs in at about around 200MB; keep that in mind when you get your notification to update.
