TELUS to invest CA$7 million in Manitoba in 2012

TELUSTELUS today announced plans to invest CA$7 million in Manitoba this year. The money will be used to further expand and enhance its 4G wireless service in the province. The announcement follows similar ones made for Ontario and Quebec earlier this month.

“TELUS’ $7 million investment will enhance our world-class wireless network for Manitobans living and working in the province,” said Michael Sangster, TELUS vice-president. “TELUS is committed to making investments in infrastructure and technology to better serve our customers and communities. We are deeply grateful for the hard work and outstanding commitment of our nearly 100 team members and retirees and for the support of our customers.”

TELUS’ wireless network today only covers the Winnipeg area and a narrow portion along the southern border with Saskatchewan. Where TELUS will expand coverage remains to be seen.
