BlackBerry Z30 now available in Canada (Updated)

BlackBerry Z30

Right on schedule, the BlackBerry Z30 is today making its Canadian debut. The 5-inch phablet will share flagship status with the QWERTY keyboard BlackBerry Q10 while the Z10 and Q5 will hold down the entry-level side of things under BlackBerry’s new product strategy.

The BlackBerry Z30 is the first to run BlackBerry 10.2. This latest version comes with “hundreds of refinements plus many new features” including an improved BlackBerry Hub, access to BBM messages from any app and BlackBerry Natural Sound for enhanced sound in BBM Voice and BBM Video chats.

Bell Mobility is first out of the gate, offering the BlackBerry Z30 for CA$179.95 with a two-year contract or CA$699.95 outright. TELUS is still listing it as ‘coming soon’ but that should change later today.

It is also headed to MTS, SaskTel and Rogers after it decided to reverse its initial decision not to carry it. In fact, Rogers sent us email to let us know that new and existing customers can now reserve the BlackBerry Z30 smartphone through the Rogers Reservation System. Pricing and availability details will be announced “soon.”

Incidentally BlackBerry 10.2 updates will roll out to other BlackBerry 10 devices starting in mid-October, pending carrier approvals.

Let us know below if you plan on getting the BlackBerry Z30 today.

Update: The BlackBerry Z30 is now available through TELUS. It is available in black only for CA$129 with a two-year contract or CA$650 outright.
