Google Nexus 7 (2013) to land on Google Play Canada store on August 13th

2013 Google Nexus 7Mark the date! CanadianReviewer has learned that the 2013 version of the Google Nexus 7 tablet will make its debut on the Canadian Google Play store on August 13th.

As in the U.S., only the Wi-Fi models will initially be available. The 16GB version, already on sale through a number of retailers, will cost CA$229.99 while the 32GB version will sell for CA$269.99. There is no word yet on if and when the LTE-enabled model will be coming to Canada any time soon.

Unveiled in late July, the 2013 edition of the Google Nexus 7 brings a number of improvements to Google’s first Nexus tablet. Among them are a faster 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8064, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean preloaded (although the 2012 Nexus 7 update is now available), a higher resolution 7-inch WUXGA (1920×1200/323PPI) display and a rear 5MP camera.

Let’s hope that the launch is not marred by the same issues that plagued the Nexus 4 launch last year. Fortunately, the U.S. launch went smoothly suggesting that we should not see any issues in Canada either.

There is no word yet on whether the Chromecast will make its debut alongside the Nexus 7.
